Returns for broadly syndicated loans (BSL) were largely unchanged in September, posting a 0.44% gain despite modest market value losses, according to the Morningstar LSTA Leveraged Loan Index (LLI). Interest income of 0.63% drove total returns, even as base rates declined following the Fed’s rate cut. For the year through September, returns stand at 4.6%, with interest income of 6% offsetting market value losses.
