July 28, 2020 - We are delighted to share with LSTA members the summer 2020 edition of Loans Magazine. This edition provides members with valuable content on the latest developments in the syndicated loan market in a Covid-19 world. It begins with a letter from Lee Shaiman, LSTA Executive Director, to membership followed by an article exploring potential shifts in the political landscape with the upcoming election this November. We continue with a series of articles on the many aspects of the LIBOR/SOFR transition, an analysis of the secondary loan market, and a discussion about defaults, performance expectation and covenants in a world with Covid-19. We then take a look at the exciting and growing sustainable finance sector and discuss a recent victory in the “loans as securities” Kirschner case. Finally, we discuss regulatory updates and provide valuable insights into the Main Street Lending Program and the TALF program.

We hope this is a helpful assessment of the many loan market happenings in 2020 to date.
