February 14, 2022 - More Than 50 Experts Across the Corporate Loan Space Share Their Knowledge in 900-Page Guide

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA) today announced the publishing of a landmark guide to the leveraged loan industry, The Handbook of Loan Syndications and Trading, Second Edition. The book covers all aspects of the loan market, from public policy to blockchain, and is the first update in 15 years.

Edited by LSTA Executive Director Lee Shaiman and LSTA EVP and Deputy General Counsel Bridget Marsh, the book has 55 expert contributors from all corners of the corporate loan market. Industry experts included are KKR & Co. covering Private Credit to Maggie Wang, Managing Director and Global Head of CLO and CDO Research at Citi Global Market, discussing CLOs.

“The loan market has evolved dramatically over the past 15 years, and this newly updated publication will be an invaluable resource for the loan market community. We enlisted the best of the loan market to provide market-leading commentary and how-to advice to help educate our audience. I am most appreciative to the LSTA senior staff members and the diverse group of distinguished industry experts who made this book possible,” said Shaiman.

“Since we published the last edition, markets have developed, documentation has evolved, and market practices have been refined,” commented Marsh. “We are confident that readers will be able to rely on this updated edition as they consider the corporate loan market or look to negotiate its nuance.”

“This handbook is a wealth of important information for all who regularly navigate the U.S. loan market, compiled by some of the industry’s leading experts,” said Jeff Bakalar, Senior Managing Director, Group Head and CIO of Voya Investment Management. “From the basics of market structure to some of today’s more complex topics, it’s all in here.”

“This is a fantastic resource that explains the intricacies of the growing U.S. corporate loan market—from the primary market where the loans are originated to the secondary market where they are actively traded. Everything is explained in one easy-to-use source,” said Andrew Sveen, Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, Head of Floating Rate Loans.

“This book captures all the loan market’s developments since the Global Financial Crisis—it’s an amazing resource for new entrants to the market, seasoned professionals, and investors,” said Scott Baskind, Head of Global Senior Loans and Chief Investment Officer of Invesco.
