September 6, 2018 - We are all thinking about these issues, in the loan market, and in our own lives. So it stands to reason that these are the themes of the LSTA Annual Loan Conference on October 24th. Douglas Holtz-Eakin, the President of the American Action Forum and former director of the Congressional Budget Office, will talk about today’s economic challenges and how we confront them. Dr. Holtz-Eakin’s talk will frame some of the challenges we face today – and lenders will discuss how that translates into credit challenges they tackle on a daily basis. But at the Conference, we’ll also look ahead – way ahead! April Rinne, Head of the Sharing Economy Working Group at the World Economic Forum, will discuss how the consumers might be moving from buying stuff (cars, clothes) to sharing stuff (Uber, Turo, Rent the Runway). What does all this mean for the loan market? We all remember Yellow Pages and Blockbuster. Ms. Rinne’s talk will help us discern the next Blockbuster, and our panelists will talk about how this informs their views of the market of the future.
